Because you are using the full name feature it doesn't work for just x by default.

The list a valid names is displayed in the variables panel beneth your expression. In this case they are

Variable x

Variable y

Variable z

You can use these in your expression or rename the inputs to x, y and z

Hi Will,

Variable names cannot have spaces in them. The error message should say that. Just rename your variables to x, y and z only.

I think you get this particular error because you are using the full name display. This is incompatible with correct variable names.
