algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Éxpression editor wont work.

Hi, I'm very very new to grasshopper, and well trying to learn how to use the program with the help of the manual, and I'm trying to write this equation: x*sin(5*x) into the expression editor of a single Variable Function component and in the manual there's a screenshot of the editor.... and right next to variable x it says 'x As Double'.... mine says 'x As null'

 

So I'm not sure what my mistake is, I just wrote the equation the way the manual tells me to do it but it won't work, it comes out as syntax error, anyone have any idea why?

Well, it's working.

Be sure you use the right expression component: here you don't need more than one variable (x) so you have to use a simple function component.

If you use a multiple variable component for this, it will inform you that the other variables are null.

Oh now i get it, mmm weird, i wonder why the manual didnt instruct me to give a value to x :/

 

Maybe its a mistake or something o.o , anyway thanks a lot :D
