Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I apologize in advance for my question. Its nature is a result of my lack of knowledge. I am familiar with using rhino. Couple of weeks ago i started using grasshopper with somewhat sufficient result. That is a parametric model that can be controlled by 3 sliders.

The thing i need now is to create USER or civil environment that looks like this: when you look at the screen, there is nothing but the object and those 3 sliders placed next to it. The basic idea is that user can modify the object before he prints it out on 3D printer and the object is changing according to moving with sliders using mouse, thats it.

Nevermind the 3D printing part. I just need to present this user interface with moving object for my diploma project. Only requirements i have for this are that there cant be seen rhino or grasshoppper on the screen...anything besides object and sliders on plain white background (i would also like to have static pictures showing results of each slider extreme on the sides of them plus some general written information around it).

Problem is that my programming skills are zero and when i talk about it with programmers i am getting really lost. Partialy because they dont know what rhino or grasshopper are.

I dont require it to be webbased or flash or whatever... i just need it to be there on the screen as i described for people to try it out and achieve this as simply as possible.

I am not saying i havent tried, ive red about firefly, chrisalys, ghowl etc but since i am quite a retard when it comes to complicated things like processing or script i just dont know where to begin.

My hope is that you can help me at least get on the right track since im more than willing to learn more. Or maybe tell me about plugins etc that could help me and can offer the results i desperatly need.

Thank you very much,

Petr

hey, i am not 100% sure but i think you cant make application out of grasshopper or any separate screen, but i use processing for this, it looks complicated but its not so terrible there are tons of examples and GUI is quite ok with library controlP5 and mesh with toxiclibs

gui   http://www.openprocessing.org/sketch/66400

mesh + gui http://www.openprocessing.org/sketch/53493

drz sa :)

maximize the perspective viewport. put rhino into full screen mode. resize the GH window so you only see the sliders.

voila
