algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I am working on trying to get data that I have in a 'panel' to be exported to separate .txt files...the separator is the tree-structure/branch number.

I am hoping to avoid separating each panel data by a 'list-data' component (i.e. I am looking for an automated solution that I have a hunch will need to be scripted)

If anyone has any ideas that would be great,

M.

Matthew,

The new Explode Tree would probably be the simplest answer, but you would need to know how many branches you have. Or perhaps you could set up a definition for a maximum number of branches and any unused branch slots wouldn't stream data.

Hi Taz,

Cool, I just tried it and it works. I agree with your point about knowing the maximum number of branches...it is not the cleanest way to do the job but it works.

Thank you very much.

M.

I'm after a parametric solution to the Explode Tree component. i.e. bang! with 'n' outputs.

Sounds like this needs to be scripted, at present the manual approach is very limiting. i.e. any change in the length of the input has to have an output manually added.

Looks like you've solved it. Can you please post a vb definition for an infinite/excess number of branches?
