Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys!

I would like to export some 2D line animation in grasshopper.

First I would like to animate them: they are multiple slider animated... so how can i control the whole animation with a single slider or is it possible to control multiple slider at the same time?

then I want to import them in After Effect in order to give them some special effects...is it possible?

I've tried to use Centipede, but it seems impossible to export them as a png sequence...

Thx in advance,

Marco

...anybody knows? :(

The Animation export from Grasshopper is done by a single slider. Right click the slider and select Animate...  If you have a multi slider driven animation you will need something like Centipede to control all the other sliders from the single animated one. If Centipede is not suitable you will have to devise some kind of Boolean switching mechanism to bring sliders into play.

The After Effects issue is an annoying bug on Adobe's side of things. David uses only standard libraries for the image generation you might be able to find an image editing program like paint shop pro that you can batch convert them to that AE will accept

Hi Danny,

thank you for the answear... so ok i've found this plug-in: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/current-view-capture

in your opinion is it possible use it with centipede? Coud I make an animation as targa or png sequence?

Hey Marco,

I don't know if this is still a problem for you. But today while trying to prepare an animation with a sequence of still iamges taken from grasshopper with the animation tool in the slider I encountered the same problem, and solved it.

The solution is exporting them as png.

Cheers,

Lorenzo
