algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Novice looking for help to explode a loft into its parts as sections.

Any suggestions?

Ideally I align the parts in a plane.

Hi/Hoi(?) Anton, I fumbled something together for this, I hope I understood you correctly.

Also, I made some assumptions, based on the image you posted:
1) the 'backbone' is planar and bends in only one direction,
2) the loft consists of straight sections,
3) the section curves for the loft are all the same rectangle.
(to keep all the surfaces attached to each other) Oh, and it would mean the material thickness is near zero - paper thin I guess.

I unrolled the segments using rotations, and to unroll further I used Orient. (I didn't try using only Orient, for now.) So it's much like how I would do it manually~   If I made the right assumptions, this will work for your case. Hope this helps you on your way.

Pieter, great help! I'll report back. You wend the extra step of unfolding the tubes. I was just looking for the tubes. Good learning ground for me. Thx!
