Expand / extrude a mesh and create a box with the mesh as upper end

Hi there!

I already tried to find a solution for my problem, but somehow the things I tried didn't work out...

I created a topographic model in grasshopper and I now want to build this as a real physical model in paper. For that reasons I need a solid volume.

How can I fill the space below the mesh, so I get a nice box with plain site and ground panels and with the mesh as the upper end?

I already tried to thicken the mesh with weaverbird and make a boolean difference between a simple box and the thickened mesh - but the results were absolutely wrong.

It would be awesome if some of you could help me out!

This is a way, but if you don't want a watertight mesh for 3d print, then there are probably some other more simpler ways.. (need Weaverbird Plugin)

Wow! Thank you - that helped a lot!

Added a "min thickness" slider feature that uses a 'BBox (Bounding Box)' to get a "low point", then moves it down by "min thickness" and uses that as the basis for the 'Project' plane - the bottom of the box.
