algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello guys,

I'm trying to use evaluate surface to find a normal vector line for all of these points, but I can not make it work because I don't know how to split this big surface into a group of small surfaces, can you guys help me take a look of my file and give me some advice? thank you

BTW: If this simple surface is what you have in mind for that ... obsession of yours (he, he) THEN ... well ... we can forget the ultra complex system mailed some days ago and stick to the first one (the "rigid" X, that is - BTW: you did a very nice presentation of it: bravo).

These V1/V2 defs do that (minus the cables: task for the brave, he he). I mean that the X members are not rotating at all: therefor are co planar per pairs making life much much easier.

Certainly it's not the ideal tensegrity XTruss on a surface ... but who's gonna notice it? Nobody if you ask me (but I still recommend the double tetra: far simpler and more elegant).

Added a "solid" option (it's very slow) in order to start getting the gist of what clash issues mean: start playing with the divisions and observe the obvious.

You're almost there, just one more component, 'EvalSrf N' are the surface normal vectors:

P.S.  If you connect the 'Divide Surface' points output directly to the 'Point' input of 'Surface Closest Point', the normals will be aligned with those pink "X" lines instead of between them.  Much less code too!  (attached)
