Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, I need to add a uniform pressure along the ring circle, but there is no option for this. Therefore I divided the circle and create a series of vector lines that point to the center of the circle >> and use this series of lines to function as "force".

However there is an error: couldn't the find a certain node where load 0 is attached.

In a lower green group, I tried again simply one point and one custom vector direction, same error.

Could anyone please give me some advise what does it mean?
Or better, is there a way to apply uniformed pressure load (instead of a lot of point load) along a circle?

Thank you!

Hi Jing,

this error message results when the support positions that you input are not actually nodes on your input mesh geometry. There are two ways you can fix this issue.

1. snap the points that you defined in grasshopper to the vertices of your mesh using the closest pt or find similar member component

2. use the mesh Breps component in Karamba which you can input this support points for the mesher to include these points as vertices on your mesh

best,

Matthew

Hi Matthew,

Thank you, it works now! and thank you for your multiple solutions, help me understand the problem better and know more ways to solve the error.

Best,
Jing
