Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi David,

I meet a grasshopper loading error these days. This error happpens many times recently, and I think I'd better let you know. I have installed the same rhino
,the same SR8 and the same GH v0.7.0037 on my two PCs .On my first PC, everything works perfectly .But on the sencend one, sometimes (not evertime) when I try to load grasshopper, I get an error ,you can see the attached picture for details .

After reporting the error, I want to ask you for a LLX component (Line&Line Intersection). It's not a big thing, but it's annoying everytime I try to do this :I have two line segments, they donot have an intersection point unless I extend them to be enough longer .Then I guess if we can use an LLX component ,I just input my short line segment ,and the LLX will auto translate them into unlimited lines !!And then get the point of intersection.
I hope I have described this wish clear enough .What do you think??

Help!!
Anyone there??This error happened again today!! This time, I found that I cant delete any component ,so I restarted rhino, then the error dialog appeared . And then I delete grasshopper, deleate all related folders and files ,and reinstall GH .It just works for a while (may be 30 minutes) ,and I cant delete anything again~~

I noticed that in the error dialog , there seems be something wrong with a .vb file located at folder D:\dev , but I didn't install anything into this folder and this folder donot exist an all !!

I donot know what I should do now...
D:\dev is the folder in which Grasshopper is compiled on my laptop. The error message tells you (and me) in what source code file the error occured.

What happens when you try to delete a component? Do you press the Delete key, or did you use the Delete menu item? Can you Cut (Ctrl+X) a component? Can you Copy+Paste a component?

I don't know what's going on here, there's a known bug which involves the Delete key (and some other keys), but it only affects Rhino, not Grasshopper.

Hi Alpha,

this is I think a known bug. Sometimes the window handle fails on the first attempt. Does the error go away if you run the Grasshopper command again?

We made a bunch of fixes to the Window Handle code, its an odd problem we don't fully understand yet ourselves...

Hi David,

Thanks very much for your attention .
When I tried to delete something, nothing happpened .The other qusetions I just cant answer now ,for the GH on this desktop I am using is perfect .Tomorow I would like to give the other qusetions a try , and let you know the result .

Today I have found a solution in fact .It is very simple: when the error appears,I just close thino and delete the grasshopper_kernel.xml file ,then restart rhino and GH.
After that,GH will ask me to marry her with a License Agreement, and I just accept everything and she will work with me again.
Hi David,

I guess there is something wrong with the grasshopper_kernel.xml file ,I will cope the one on this pc to the sick one .If this works ,I will let you know .
