Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello guys,

While running a CDH-HDH monthly visualization in order to find when a theretical shading device should be active. I've compared the results against ecotect weather tool. Both ecotect and Ladybug are running the same weather file. with the exception that I converted the epw to a wea file using EergyPlus converter so it can be read by ecotect weather tool.

I modified the cooling and heating base temperatureof the CDH-HDH component in order to match those used by ecotect (heating = 18 degC, cooling = 26 degC)

1. What are the units that CDH-HDH component returns ( I guess it should be Kelvin Hours- Kh)

2. Heating deg Hours seams to match perfectly

3. Cooling deg Hours are completely different. LB returns a maximum value of 158.3 for July while ecotect returns a maximum value of 1430 for July.

thank you all in advance

Hi Claudio, Looks like WeatherTool is using 18 and 20 as threshold:

Hello Mostapha,

I completely agree with you (18 and 20). But as the help file of weather tool said the reference temperatures are 26 for cooling and 18 for heating. So I assume that the help file is rather not up to date or completely wrong. Coming from Autodesk I'm not surprised.

thank you for your answer.
