algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi to all,

today I am having a totaly noob question:

what is the easiest way to extrude a surface in VB (Visual Studio). The Extrusion.Create only supports Curves, so do I have to convert my surfaces into curves and then cap the extrusion ?

Thanks for all your help,

nice greets

Alex

I think so. You have to get all the closed boundary curves of the surface (if the surface is trimmed there might be a lot of them). Extrude them all without caps. Copy the base surface and move it along the extrusion direction to create the top cap and join it all together. You might even have to split kinky faces if you extrude curves with kinks.

I think i am getting blind... I can't find the right method to get the boundary curve out of my surface (by the way it's just a plane rectangular surface)...
