algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi guys
i´m tryng to replicate the "drawing machine" system in gh
please see
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BG9e06IWAxE
(min 5:09)
everything is fine, but there is something that i havent been able to solve
-the center disk rotates in the xy plane, and and want to record the data of the points generated by the intersection of the 2 arms
but the points are not drawn in the rotating disk, as it rotates
they only draw in one area, as if the center disk did not rotate al all
i´m attaching my definition
thanks for your help
cheers

You worked with points,
you needed to do with UVpoints (disk surface).
I remade the algorithm, needs "Count" of the Generation component
thank you peter, looking forward to see your solution
Well...
... When I've started adding the Anemone thing, I said to myself: peace of cake: this is 10 minutes work...
... but since kinematics is my weak spot...hmm...the one thing brings the other (for instance the ability to create and display a collection of solutions related with the kinematic geometry etc etc).
So for the moment get the stupid version : the Anemone (acting solely as a "counter") feeding the record component (should be eliminated in the next update).
Don't touch the inactive outer Anemone loop (but you can play with the demo included that is irrelevant to this case).
more in a while
best, Peter
Hi peter
Thanks so much
As far as i see, the demo is operational for now right?
No it's not because the main disk rot angle is not invited to the party (but that is very easy - this is the reason that I've provided the other "independent" demo).
More soon
Here's some working thing : some "progress" (kinda) is made but it works. Outer Loop (still inactive) needs some work more.
TIP: read comments inside as regards triggering the inner Loop when changing (via sliders) the whole geometry.
TIP: by adding a Z move option (like the independent demo included) That way you can have a 3D curve (ideal for planet Utopia and/or Zorg).
NOTE: the "solid arm maker" (the cluster) is somehow faulty ... but why bother? (or spend some time to pin the issue(s)).

be the Force (the dark option) with you

Thank you so much dani
Am i wrong but it seems that regardless of the central disc rotation the "drawing" is not captured by it?
Should´t you get a pattern that is "spread" around the whole disk?
as seen on the video
saludos
Truly excellent approach (but where's Anemone? - that's from the promo section, he he).
best, Peter
hey igor, this is great thank you so much
