Not sure if this actually creates an ellipsoidal surface , but have you tried scaling a sphere non-uniformly?

Hi guys, I'm posting my 3D foci based ellipsoid make based on Omar's reply.  I locked out the Width value so you couldn't accidentally create an infinite surface.  Tweak it as you'd like but wanted to share.
