Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

For anyone looking at classic double layer gridshells (Mannheim, Weald and Downland etc) this set of components will be useful. There are tools to create centreline geometry (for analysis etc), lath cutting patterns, and solid geometry for modelling/visualisation.

This is relatively untested so apologies for any bugs that may exist - let me know if you find any.

Cheers

Alex

Alex,

This is excellent! Thanks for sharing your work - clearly a lot of time invested in streamlining this component - it works great.

MInor update attached - now includes triaxial gridshells (see images below).

great job. thank you!!

Thanks!

Hi this looks really great but is here any tutorials or a manual for beginners?

looks great!

I've made some major updates to Gridshell Components and added a few example GH files to get started:

http://www.grasshopper3d.com/profiles/blogs/latest-version-of-grids...

This includes a new 'Unroll Curve' component allowing any curve on a surface to be unrolled into 2D.

Very nice!!
Thank you.

its brilliant bro

Hi , as I open it, it's said I don't have the plugin, would you please tell me the name of the plugins? Thanks

Hi - you need 'Gridshell Components.GHA' installed. I posted the latest version here:

http://www.grasshopper3d.com/profiles/blogs/latest-version-of-grids...

Just copy the GHA file into your Grasshopper Components folder and everything should run OK.

Alex,

Thanks for sharing your great work.

I tried to use your component but I don't know why it has an error?!

Could you please help me with that?

Best,

Nick
