Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everyone

I am designing a 250m tower and I have a question about 3d modeling.

I am finding particularly complicated to define the top of the tower...I never knew how to create smooth rounded surfaces like the one I sketched on the picture. Before I used to loft to a really small curve, almost a point but the result is not satisfying at all...

can someone help me with this definition?

I will gladly appreciate every suggestion  :)

I am trying to find a solution to have something like this picture here but in my case I think is a little more complicated...

thanks!!

Before using Grasshopper you could do it with Rhino. It will be more easier to understand were you want to add parametric.

In Grasshopper you could use mesh followed by Catmull & Clark Subdivision, it is similar to SubD in RH 6.0/WIP. The advantage here is that you don't need a lot f control point to have a beautiful shape. But the quads needs to be done well. Not easy but you will be able to manage the parametric with moving  control points

Here an example.

Thank you so much Laurent :) I am going to try!

I also didn't know about Bifocal, quite interesting :D
