thanks for the definition!

Do you as well know how to create thickness for the cell of the voronoi?

because I used "offset" and the cells do not offset on the surface but off the surface..

Try offset on surface. Or pull those curves on surface.

If you want smooth planks for the cells, you can use a plugin for grasshopper called Weaver Bird.

You'll have to convert the brep into mesh to work with it though, but the result is "smooth"!
