Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I would like to divide a trimmed surface into an even grid of smaller surfaces. In the definition below I have managed to project a preliminary grid onto the surface, though this merely acts as a representation of the divisions required.

The aim is to divide the conical surface into a grid of surfaces (which have the same overall geometry) yet can be controlled independently. I am not sure whether the easiest way to achieve this is to find the corner points for each grid 'section' and create a new surface from those points, aligned to the original surface or to use a surface frames component and try to use the frames / points to estimate new surfaces.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, definition and screenshot attached.

Thanks, Tom

Hi, could this be one way?

Hi Hyungsoo, that seems to work great, thank you very much! I hadn't thought about doing it this way!
