algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

Is it possible to divide a surface into parts with area of a given percentage?

For example, let's say I have a surface and want to divide it into 5 parts with area percentages 5% 10% 10% 60% 15%.

Thank you

Hi Dimitris,

Is this what you want:

You can take flat surface if you want, instead of curved one.

thank you very much! its exactly what I want. this is big help

Is it possible to divide the same way, a non rectangular surface ?

with a  free form boundary lets say?

Try this:

Choose the division direction (X, or Y) then your division percentages (if you would like different ones), and just run the Galapagos by minimizing the Fitness. It might take a while to get the desired result.

thank you , I will try it out and post back , hopefully with good results!! thnx!

Its great . works perfectly , it takes quite a while but eventually it works!

thnx

Hello!
Your definition works perfectly djordje!
Is there a way to have a same definition for surfaces that have voids in the center and with x and y axis defined by the surface?
