algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello I'm working on a diagrid for a surface and i wonder if I can divide the surface by distance instead of equal parts. My surface is curved and straight, so the curved parts have fewer struts while the straight portions have a lot. I'd like to be able to make it distributed evenly along the surface, or to be able to accurately control its distribution.
Thanks for your help!

Hi, can you also post the rhino-file with your surface please?

yes, here is the rhino file. Thanks!

From what I can see, it is in fact an even distribution by distance, but measured at the inside of the thorus-like shape. The outside then becomes uneven.
You can control this when creating the base surface. If it was made as "Sweep 1 Rail" just make sure the rail curve is at the outside of the torus rather than the inside.

You can see the difference in this image. Note how the two surfaces are created with different rail curves. The left one is on the inside and the right one is on the outside.

And here is a test with the rail curve at the centre. This is perhaps the one that looks most even?

I see, thanks so much. I'll give it a try
yes it works! I also didn't know you could rail from the middle. thanks again.
