Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi I am new to Karamba (just downloaded) and before attempting to use it I would like to know if my requirements will be met by Karamba. I am hoping one of the more advanced users of Karamba can provide me some feedback.

I am unable to share my 3D model, however can explain the type of results I am after.

My structure which is a shell has two handles on either side of it that are part of the shell. These are for all intense purposes just indents into the shell.

The shell is attached to a weighted surface, measuring 16.306kg. What I need to determine is the effects of the force, its distribution and intensity over the shell when picked up by the handles within it. Can Karamba provide this kind of feedback?

If the above is possible then I may need to expand on this evaluation and perform the same exercise with multiple shells interacting with each other with the same conditions regarding weighted surface to which the multiple shells are attached and the force of the shells being lifted with this weight.

My aim is to determine where the force will translate to in the shell/shells when they are lifted by the handle indents.

I look forward to the response. Thank you, Robert.

Hi Rob,

I think this can be done with Karamba.

Best,

Clemens

Hi Clemens, thank you for the feedback. I will give Karamba a try for my purposes.

All the best, Robert.
