Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everybody,

I have some points (20 points) from a random component and I want to control the distance between each point with the all other 19 points. How can I do this?

Is there any idea?

thank you very much

distance component, right click and then cross reference

thank you Valentina,

I have developed the diagram one more step.

But there is one big problem.

I have dispatched the points into two lists. When I use the distance component,

the distance between the points in the first list and the points in the second list

are calculated,BUT THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE POINTS IN EACH LIST ARE NOT

CALCULATED.

HOW CAN I REMOVE THIS PROBLEM?

what if you graft them?

I have to say that I have not tried it before and I don't know how to use it.

could you please help me?

let me see if i got it. you have a list split into two. you want the distance between the points in the same list or that between the first point of the first list and the first of the second one? or both?

i want the distance between each point with all other points it both lists.

i think the way i have used, is not ok because i can not calculate the distance between the points in one list.

see my screen shot

do you mean to calculate the distances? Your original question says to control the distances, do you mean how to set all the points a certain distance from each other? If you mean to calculate then this is how. (zero in the list being the point compared against itself)

hi Michael,

that's it.

It's silly but I didn't know how to graph.

it's almost what I need, but how can I eliminate the repeated items?

(you know, the distance between point A and point B is calculated two times, once from A to B and once from B to A and also the distance from A to A which shows 0)

graft*

and here is to remove duplicate distances.

dear Michael,

I'm so thankful

I really appreciate it.

could you please send me the GH file?

i'm using another version and the icons are different from yours.

Another solution is to use the [Proximity 3D] component. If you set the Group Size input to be the same (or higher than) then the number of points, then you'll get all connections.
