algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi there,
is there a possibility, to access the display colours of a mesh in grasshopper...the mesh decompose just gives me a null for the c output ( i guess it is a different type of data item mesh colour and item display colour..but i am only guessing;)
so basically i have data from another rhino plugin about natural light in a building, which is shown in different (amount adjustable) coloured square meshes..i want all these mashes rendered in their specific colour, or set their display colour as a diffuse channel in their material (prefer vray, not a renderer which is supporting vertex shading (in this case i tried flamingo nxt), because then i cant set the materials of the other structural items of the building, which should be rendered too...)
thanks for your help...

Hi Nick,
materials and vertex-colours are indeed not the same thing. Materials can be associated with mesh objects, but they are not part of the Mesh geometry. Vertex colours are.
There's no straightforward way to get at the material of an object at the moment as far as I know.

Hi David,
okay, i think i will render the structure with vray, and separately render my analysis mesh grid with flamingo...
so i will try to get the list results of diva into a defintion, that will create me a gradient mesh, which i will then render in flamingo...at least i try, but i bet, i will get some problems doing it, so i will ask again here soon...
thanks anyway for your replies, and your care for the gh community..
