Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

displacement map (height map) / heightfield from image without good results...

hallo!! i have a problem with a height map - black and white image - that i want to use through grasshopper in exactly the same way as the "heightfield from image" command in rhino works. the reason why i want to use it through grasshopper is to manipulate the z-translation while working in the file. i have attached a screenshot of the rhino result and what i have in grasshopper. i tried many different mesh sizes, grid density and z-multiplication but cant find the mistake? any help would be great!! thanks so much!!!

you have to open image sampler dialog box. than change intervals - you'll change texture mapping that way
thanks but i cant find the intervals. i am using vs 0.8.0004. do you think this is the problem?

no it shouldn't be a problem.

just double click the image sampler window, than a popup window will open. There are two intervals to manage with.

hi mateusz, finally!!! it is working, the problem was that i was connecting points from the mesh to the image sampler, once i used a surface and surface divide to get the uv-points everything was fine. but after trying a new image i got a new problem - a series of surfaces offset in z-direction instead of one surface. dont know if you have any experience with that, but would be very helpful if you could help me out with that??

thanks again!!

Flatten the output of your Surface Divide.
