Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am trying to edit this script it so it will go towards an attractor (eg: food source) and as it grows the older parts die off to leave the minimum path(like slime mould) Any suggestions? Sorry I am quite new to grasshopper

Hi Sarah,

I am not sure if this applies to your question but you can guide a "growth" on hoopsnake by measuring the different directions towards an object and keeping the closest one for the current object. Have a look at the definition attached and video below.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but try the attached file.

It's almost the same script but I added a small subroutine that will make it only add a line when it's not the furthest away from a desired point. To input this point I added a point input called 'target'.

Thank you so much!- how did you add the target?

It's the last input, at the bottom of the input list. To change it just right click on the point parameter connected to it and reference a new point.

hi, i am also new in gh. I try to use the vb script but it gives the error: array out of bounds and the index cannot be a negative value. so it cannot be started. how can i fix it? thanks by now.
