Difficulty rotating surfaces

Hello kind grasshopper experts,

I'm a newbie to grasshopper and I'm simply trying to rotate an array of surfaces around a central axis.

It's not working, I'm attaching a screen shot.

I'm also wondering if this same process can be done with boxes instead of surfaces.

I think you need to add a line for the rotation axis.  Boxes?...yes.
