algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I am design a tube like structure as a bridge, it is constructed with wooden beams.
Now I have all the beams there. Two questions:
1.can I get a bending moment diagram of the whole structure, then I can redo the pattern(vary the density of the pattern, high bending moment, high density of pattern) based on the bending moment?
2. can the results of karamba analysis tell me if the structure is reasonable or not(now the maximum displacement is 2.256e+6 from the analysis, is it too big?)

1) model a simple beam structure instead of the pattern (the beam = approx. axis of the bridge), then
a) you have much more control
b) you can plot the bending moments with the beam view component
c) you can get the bending moment as a number at any point along the axis, therefore link your pattern density with it. but be sure that the denser the pattern the better the bending stiffness to make sense
2) this probably means you have a mistake somewhere in the model. normally, deflections should be limited to around 1/300 * spanLength, which for 100m span would be 0.33m. you now have 2256 km of deflection. check the deformation shape (via the model view component)
best

and for the 1st question, if the geometry is irregular in xy(like this top view), should I still simply it as a beam? how can I find the central axis of it?
Or can I do analysis based on the mesh getting from the geometry, then do the pattern variation based on the bending moment diagram of the mesh?(am I right?)
