algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I have a question about deformation of grid points when a surface is bent in two directions and fixed at the (4) corner points.

I am working with the Rhino plug-in Paneling Tools to apply the grid. I have tried several paneling grid options. If the corner points were not fixed, I think the 'surface distance' option is the right one. But the corner points are fixed, so this option cannot be applied any longer since the corner points get a new position. The deformation of grid points because of the bending of the surface is accomplished, but the corner points are not fixed. What grid do I have to use?

I've tried

- the 'surface domain variable' option with GaussianCurvature

- the 'surface domain variable' option with PointAttractors at the corner points and switched the AttractMethod; Towards Away

- ..

Only the corner points need to be fixed, but at both these options the outer grid points stay on the surface edge, while the inner grid points move towards the center. Shouldn't the outer grid points move as well?

I don't have the skill to analyse these options and come to a conclusion, so hopefully you can help me solve this

Thanks

So you are looking for a kind of minimalsurface with fixed corners. You might have a look at rhino membrane. If you can use a mesh the GeomGym PlugIn helps you as well (force density mesh relaxation).

Thanks for your reaction, but it is not quite the answer I'm looking for. I know I can use Rhino Membrane, but I need to know what grid corresponds to the double curved surface with fixed corner points.
