Yes, thank you. But I am trying to find out how to get the surface panel within the grid. If you look at the original script you will see what the outcome should look like.

You can split your original surface with intersecting section curves.

But, beware, they will be all "Trimmed Surfaces". 

With the small phthon script, you can get "Shrink Trimmed Surfaces".
