algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi all,
i have spent too much unsuccessful time with my problem of the correct orientation of ribs for Boolen (waffle).
Can someone help me with a tip?
Thanks!

Hi Thomasz,
yes, this is exact what i need! THANK YOU!!
Bernd
p.s. I see, i must in the next time learn to match data structures.
Hi Thomasz,
I don't fully follow your brim (notch) width calculation (function etc). Are you sure it is right? My german is to poor to understand the comments in the definition ;).
But my general question is what will be the outcome of your definition? Laser cutting of plywood? Paper? Or CNC milling? Maybe you don't have to calculate co precisely the brim width and just make it slightly wider than the ribs? Waffle structures seems to work best when based on orthogonal grid...
yes, orthogonal Waffle structures are by definition easier (I work with) and the 3D models are mechanically more stable. The variant with the non-orthogonal Waffles, but I find creative and appealing ( see an example image here from the forum).
I cut acrylic plates with laser, if the cutouts are too big is a stick together is too bad and the model are too unstable.
The calculation of the angle and the corresponding cutout wide would agree , just my implementation in GH makes me ( as a beginner GH ) some problems. The steps after conversion angles in corresponding cutout wide are the correction for angles < 180 and > 180 ° , perhaps is here my error?
