algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hey everyone,
first post and sorry because i'm new to grasshopper but i need some help. Is there a way to use a custom geometry (in my case a sort of smashed hexagon) instead of circles and squares when working with attractor points? I'm trying to apply a pattern (using this shape) to a screen wall i'm creating but i'm not sure how to do this? it seems like it should be possible if i'm trying to do the same thing as with a square/circle but just using a different shape?
Any help would be much appreciated and sorry having to make a new post, but i've exhausted my search for the answer to this.
Thank you,
Kyle

barry thank you very much for sending me the definition man! i got just another question, the attractor curve on that definition repels the hexagons /see attached example/ , i want to switch that so the hexagons get attracted by the line, since they are being repelled.
thank you very much for your help barry!
Hello,
I'm working with kyle on this project and we appreciate the definition very much. We made an adjustment so that we could apply the grid to a surface directly, however we are struggling to find a way to adjust the components so that the shape is larger at the attractor line and smaller as it scales away.
Attached is the definition file, with our adjustment in the top left corner, your definition to the right, and the definition that does the reverse scaling (but only with squares) below.
Thanks in advanced for any advice.
I was trying to do the same inversion to the values. I couldn't... What's the expression you did use Chris?
Thanks
hello, thanks a lot guys to sharing those definitions,
i have a question, how can i apply this definition on a curvy surface?
thanks
Yes! This is exactly what I was looking for, THANK YOU everyone!
