algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello everybody.
After update from GH 0.8.0004 to 0.8.0007 (Rhino 4 SR9) I get the attached error message when opening an existing file.
I use no custom VB, C# script. Can anyone give a hint where I can locate the problem?
Best regards
Uwe

Hi Uwe,
the problem is in a ReadFile component. It can also have VB code inside of it, and it only supports RhinoCommon code now. If you post the source I can try and convert it.

Hello David,
you are right.
The attached Zip-file include a ghk-file with the affected ReadFile component.
Many thanks
Uwe
Sorry, turns out it's my fault. The problem isn't with this particular file, it's with the ReadFile component. This will require a new release of Grasshopper to fix it.

It seems to work regardless, though I doubt an actual script would work.
I'm not planning an imminent release, though hopefully sometime next week.

David,
I am having the same issue with the Read File component, though I am unsure if it is affecting the function of my script.
Essentially, I am reading values from a text file, which should update as the text file updates... in theory.
It doesn't parse through the data in real-time however, and i'm wondering if i can attribute this to software problems. The read-file component does stream the data real-time, does it not? or maybe theres something i'm missing.
Thanks for the help,
BET
EDIT: If the problem is with the current build of grasshopper, would it be possible to downgrade to an earlier version to solve the issue?
Hi Bryce,
you mean the output of the Read File component isn't updated when the file changes?

Right. The text file is being constantly updated through vvvv. The read file component seems to read the data once, but isn't updated when the file changes.
Also, a little more detail on the Custom Parser error. It reads:
"(warning): Namespace or type specified in the Imports 'RMA.Rhino' doesn't contain anypublic member or cannot be found"
Also similar warning for 'RMA.OpenNURBS'
Welcome to
