Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I have been looking for some tutorial that can explain how curved folding can be achieved in kangaroo. I have seen few examples by Tomohiro Tachi  and Daniel Piker on curvedfolding.com but I cannot find how it is...

I have achieved rigid folding through wonderful origami component in Kangaroo.

Till now what I have understood is spring mesh is involved somehow.

I have installed Free Origami also, but there is no manual or tutorials. I have learning with hit and trial method.

Aim : I am trying to simulate insect wing folding. I am looking for something where i can simulate simple and curved folding in one go, WITH an option of flexible geometery, ( i can input any planar geometery, i.e cockroach wing ).

Attached is an image from a research paper on wasp. I know it seems complicated, therefore I am starting simple, just by simlulating curved folding.

I have rhino5, grasshopper 0.90056.

try king kong to start! It is from robofold who does nice curved folding with Kuka robots.

It has some good example files... you'll need kangaroo also.
