Curve lines to volumetric form

Hey guys

I have a bunch of lines and i want these lines to create some forms.

Essentially something similar to this.

I've try using pipe and then join the mesh but that didn't work too well and not exactly what i wanted. I want a bigger volume where there is a cluster of lines and smaller volume for fewer lines but still maintain " an elegant liquid form.

Also been looking at mesh relaxation/kangaroo and tspline but didn't get too much out of it. Anyone got an idea and point me to the right direction?
