Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Good day,

I've been trying to figure a way to generate a curve from points where I can control the start point of the curve and the length of the curve.

Does any one have any idea on how I can do this.

I have found a C# definition on how can it be done, but I would rather prefer to develop a definition without referring to scripting language.

Thank you

Hello.

I think you have to be more specific about what kind of curves you want to produce. Are they curves produced by mathematic formula? If you just specify a starting point and a length, I think you will by definition end up with a straight line with no specified direction. How would you specifiy the curvature from only 1 point?

Please explain what you are trying to achieve.

Thank you for your answer.

I uploaded a file explaining the idea. I will try to explain it here as well.

Let's consider A the first curve (or polyline) and B the second curve obtained from the offset of A.

C is a third curve, to generate C, I will first divide B and generate C from the division points of B... Here I want to control the starting point and the length of C.

I hope I was clear enough

The starting point of the curve will always be the first point in the list, so in order to change the starting point, you need to shift your list. Hope this helps!

Great that what i am looking for.

Thank you for your answer

Ah, curve generators, the essence of parametric design.
