Creating perfectly stacked cubes such as Sou Fujimoto's installation " Many Small Cubes"

Hi, just wondering how am I able to create cubes that are perfectly stacked together using grasshopper. I am not sure if I am using the right method but I managed to create an aggregate of cubes and is planning to cull some cubes off  to create something that is similar to Fujimoto's installation. However I am not happy with it as the cubes do not stack perfectly well together. Does anyone know a better way to create this or a way to ensure that the cubes are stacked among one another. Thank you :)

There are only two sizes of cubes on the picture. And it's whole cube and quarter. So you can try to start with randomly dividing a cube grids.
