algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi All,
Been a while since I've posted here and looking for some advice.
I have been playing around with the image sampler to get relief in a suface based on saturation from an image.
Ie I am taking a B&W image, then trying to map it onto a surface where the darkest areas depress the surface 1" and the lighter areas less while a pure white area of the image keeps the surface at its original location.
So if I have a radial gradient, dark in the center, I would get a crater form. Or if I had a smiley face, I would get depressions at the eyes and mouth.
Although I have had some success with a script, the results aren't ideal. I looked around and did not find a script for this purpose on the forums although I am sure someone has probably already made one.
Will post some images when I am home. I appreciate any help you may have to offer!
Thanks!
-Andrew
