Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,

i wanted to achieve an openable panel in a curved srf like the air flower facade attached below. its a little different than that as i divided hexagonal patterns into 3 parts creating pentagons that opens up instead of 4 triangles.

What i did

1. project hexagonal grids into a curved srf

2. make hex panels flat

3. debrep to divide panels to 3

4. create lines to form a pentagon

5. set rotation axis for its rotation

However, problem was i can't seem to make the pentagons into a surface.

tried capping and boundary srf but failed.

Gh file attached below.

Hello Kelvin,

The initial surface on your file is not internalised. Please do that and repost or upload your 3dm file as well.

I gave it a try with a surface I created, if it doesn't work on your case then follow the suggestions above.
