algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello everybody!
I have to do a grid shell structure. Right now I want just to be able to do what is in the image called "Goal".
I tried to do by using Grasshopper and Kangaroo plug-in.
Firstly I created a surface, which I divided in equal parts and then I applied a force on it. What I managed to do is the "Myproject".
In the second solution I created 4 points. After creating a surface using the points, I transformed the surface in a mesh. Using the Weaverbirdedges, Weaverbirdvertices and Kangaroo I created the "Myproject2".
Can somebody help me in realizing the "Goal"?
I don't want the exact solution , I just need some tips in what should I do/ learn. Right now I don't really know in which direction I have to go...
Thank you very much for your help :)

Hi KissLorand,
the way I see it this is the mesh and the anchor points you should plug into kangaroo:
The problem is the forces that you should apply to it.
I have tried it with springs and (reversed) gravity but the result is not the same.
Maybe you will also need a [curvepull] strength or something like that
Anyway, you can have the file and experiment on it.
Hello KissLorandyou can try the following.
after you start the simulation lower the scale slider value to get the points come closer. you will have to set the slider to value 1 every time you reset the simulation.
polyline bend force is essential to add the resistance force of the gridshell.
cheers

check out the kangaroo examples (the page and zip with files). there you can find very nice definitions starting from basics to more advanced.
