Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I am quite new to Grasshopper so please forgive me if I ask a very basic question. I am trying to create a mesh from the below curve network. The curve network has been made with the "ggtrussfromcurves" command from the Geogymp plugin. It looks as if the only thing I need to do is fill each triangle with a mesh, but I just can't figure out how to do it.

I have also tried create the same mesh from a polar array of points in the vertex locations, but I couldn't get that to work either.

The goal is to make a lightweight mesh that can be imported into the Kangaroo folding module so I can try out some circular folding patterns.

I hope somebody can help me out here :-)

Hi.

Check attached(Purple group). You'll need "Weaverbird" plug-in.

Hi Hyungsoo Kim,

Thanks so much for thinking along! The mesh works like a charm! Unfortunately there is something about the way the mesh is constructed that affects the way the Kangaroo folding module works.

In fold model 05 I had the folding behaviour working on a 2D sheet of paper (push the boolean toggle on the Kangaroo panel to see)

In fold model 09 (I connected your mesh to the Origami panel) I notice the folding starts only in the top center of the mesh... is that because the mesh is constructed from the top middle downwards? I think I need to find a way to change the way the mesh is formed so the triangles are made one vertical rol at a time. Is that possible do you think?

thanks again,

michel

ps. I saw you only improved my method for creating a tangential curve on the cone. Thank you very much. I am learning fast!
