Create a Dropdown Selection Interface? - Value List doesn't work

So I'm trying to create a dropdown list / selection interface with parameters that AREN'T values but rather characters - in this case a URL address. As far as I can tell "Value List" can have words as a selection, but can only have numbers as an output. 

Basically I want a dropdown / selection menu linked to a name interface.

So when you selected an option - "stainless steel" for example - a host of values would change that include both numbers and words

Any help would be great!
