Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

copying geometry with randomness (stuck in this one...)

Hi everybody,

***newbie alarm!!!***

Please, if you have a couple of minutes, take a look at my files attached. I hope the GH is well organized and self-explanatory enough (as a matter of fact it's the first time I managed to make a GH file organized...).

The thing is: I want to copy this base ribbon onto the other lines, with a random factor that I believe could be the number of points that generates it.

My guess is I have to introduce a tree structure, setting multiple curves to the first element and creating a determined number of random values. But I still know little of tree structures.

I also guess this is the way to go instead of copying all of this for every ribbon I want, right?

I also want to introduce other factors of randomness: the distance of the last point from the base curve and the horizontal scale of the ribbons. But that is another step I think.

As you can see from my last discussions - where you can also read about the begining of this project - I think I'm making real progress here:

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks a lot.

Regards,

LUCAS

Anybody please?

I'm adding a couple of screenshots:

Heres what I could do up to now:

And this is what I want to do:

For the second image I simply copied all the definitions for every curve and played with sliders a bit. I was trying though to find a way to do it all in a single shot, no matter how many base curves.

Thanks a lot!
