convert text to number

Hi Patricia, what text? If the text is allready a numerical value, you can just plug it into a Number or Integer component (from the Parameters > Primitive tab).
I fail to see how the image you posted is relevant b.t.w.

The text is an output from a Karamba command (MeshView)

>7.08e-01

I split the text and disgarded the > symbol but I cannot yet convert it.

I was trying to find a function in the expression editor to solve this.

The '>' indeed has to go, but the remainder should convert to a regular number.
