Convert polysurfaces into a single surface to evaluate it

Hi everyone,

I ve been all day working on the structure of my building with no problem but now, when i start with the facade i cant even start.

I have made single surfaces using curve networks in rhino. All the surfaces have the same curves so i can join them. I ve tried merging all the surfaces so i can evaluate it and keep working on it, but i cant evaluate it. Allways the same error: its a brep not a surface...

Anyone has any idea how to analyze it? Or mayby to create the whole surfaces as one single surface from the beginnig...

Thank you all in advanced

Dani

P.S The definition i have uploaded is just the beginning because i cant go on.

Hi Dani,

the topology of the result precludes it being made from a single Nurbs surface. You're going to have to figure out how to deal with either multiple surfaces or you'll have to define a single coordinate space that can handle tears and cuts. Neither is particularly easy.

Thank you David!

Thats what i imagined... :(

I will have to deal with multiple surfaces, thank you very much anyway!

Just a quick note...the typical way to populate a surface is to "map" objects to the surface using UV points or subSurface divisions...this method is the most obvious and causes abrupt changes at the boundaries between surfaces.

However, with creative Projection techniques you can overcome these problems for a whole new set of problems that are often easier and more intuitive to solve.

Just a thought from my facade workflow.
