algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
I have been experimenting with firefly lately but i couldnt find any way to control motors through it.. i have heard of 3 types of motors
stepper
servo
simple ( those in kids cars)
I have a stepper that i was trying to control but m stuck, i was supplying 1000, 0100, 0010, 0001 to blink n then to 4 digital pins... cant get beyond this... i know there must be solution other than this.
i cant buy servo as its too expensive here in karachi.
About simple motors, is there any solution that i can control there speed and all as i am looking for few motors whose radians \speed can be controlled through sliders.?
i need to make an animated thread model. any other thing you people can suggest like i heard about actuators?? is it cheap ...
please i am kinda stuck for a month now in thesis..... m using arduino UNO ,

thanks for replying.
i tried to post on firefly web several times but its not posting so i deicided to write over here.
hobby motors seems like good package, it seems much user friendly.
1.can i control hobby with arduino?
2.how many be controlled as there are 13 DP? does that mean i can tweek 13 only / or is there any way i can control more?
3. does PMW control mean i can adjust them with slider ( because thats what i m looking for)?
4.If i go for stepper, does each stpper motor requires a separate controling board?
Hey!
Do you still have the definition for stepper motor control for firefly+ arduino that Jason posted years ago! I am having difficulties:)
Thanks,

Hey, sorry man, the definition never worked. my friend made some script in processing for me. i had to change variable in processing everytime. In the end, i gave up the stepper motors stuff. Maybe now they have developed firefly, but i have no clue. best of luck
Hassan
Right after posting this, I saw the stepper control definition in my firefly examples folder!! But thanks!
Hey Hassan I somewhat have a similar situation here.. Stepper/servo motors are expensive here in karachi and i am trying to use dc motors (8) for my circuit. Could you please tell me if you worked with simple dc motors and if so how did u use them??
Thankyou
Can you please some more details about your project? Actually i am an electronic hardare designer and going to start with the Arduino.
Can you please tell me your all hardware specifications? Which are your hardware components that you are using here?
Also which firmware you are using?
Which type of motors will be suitable for this type of project?
