Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there,

I've just started using Grasshopper and I'm trying to create a curve through points but it keeps closing on me. Boolean toggle doesn't seam to work.

Below are pictures of my problem (first image) and what I want to achieve (second image).

Thanks for any help!

Is 'P' for periodic set to false?   If not change it to false.  Otherwise can you post the curve?

Thanks for your reply!

Yeah the periodic is set to false.

Here's the curve.

I ultimately want to loft the two curves and manipulate (move around) the control points to change it's shape but I'm just a bit stuck with the curve closing.

The reason you're having a problem is that you're assuming that when you select the points with a selection box that GH will automatically put them in sequential order, start to end.  This isn't the case.  If  you pick the points one at a time in the start to end sequence your curve will form correctly.  Alternatively you can use a Rhino curve and divide it with the Divide component and then put those points into the control point curve component.  Depending on how you intend to manipulate the points this may or may not be useful but it does demonstrate the need to have the points correctly ordered.  Garbage In - Garbage Out.

brilliant thanks for your help!
