algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello all
With the help of Giulio Piacentino's RenderAnimation component in combination with Horsters CameraControl I am trying to make a walkthrough of a structure that is basically a bunch of strings that bend away when the camera approaches. Both are amazing, additions, except that when the "Timers are free" icon is in the system tray the whole Rhino/Grasshopper thing just stands there blinking for hours, but then I click it and it says "timers are off" and the next step in the walkthrough pops out after a short rendering process. So I have to sit by the computer and click the little icon every other minute which is not as automated as I had hoped a batch rendering would be. Not really a problem except final hand-ins are next week, and I have loads of other models to build.
Any ideas?
When I turn the thing to "timers are free" the big arrow out of the timer component turns bright red, which I guess is an indication that something is wrong.

Hi Jon,
I think you are using version 0.7.57 of Grasshopper.
If I remember correctly, back then there was a problem with timers, or maybe something else is causing this.
You could try using theTrampoline (worked in version 0.8.1...) from here,
or one of the "theEngine" components, maybe the one for 0.8.3, from the older tools page here.
Try them on an empty definition first.
Not sure if either will work in that older version, to tell the truth. But it might be worth a short.
