Contour/waffeling

Hello there,

I hope all is well.

Can someone help me create a waffle that looks like the attached image using Rhino or grasshopper?

I tried to create a 3D Object that looks similar then I contoured over it so that I can create surfaces but it did not work.

I appreciate your help.
