algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi everyone,
I'm quite new to GH and I'm trying to contain a voronoi within relaxed mesh from Kangaroo....Something like this..
But when i try to contain voronoi within polysurface (from relaxed mesh) & create wireframe.. it gives an mesh edges as well as voronoi edges... I want to have voronoi edges only...
Is there a way to eliminate these mesh edges? or contain a voronoi within polysurface some other way?

Hi Joshua,
Is it just the edges of the voronoi cells that you are after ?
If that is the case, I think the extra mesh edges can be fairly easily culled.
If you need the actual volumes of the cells, then it might be necessary to convert the mesh into a polysurface with fewer faces (instead of one surface per mesh face), which is a little more work, but probably still possible
Hi Daniel,
I actually want to select all the lines including internal and lines on the meshfaces of the voronoi.. without the mesh edges....
Daniel, Thanks for your reply/suggestion..
I've tried to cull mesh edges from all the lines... but have still failed..
how would you do it?
Thanks Daniel! Really appreciate it..
so it wasn't so simple after all :P
This might be a stupid question.. but in the script, what is the reason for using weaverbird "wbjoin" rather than built in "mjoin"?
yes, it wasn't until I started it that I realized the intersection components in grasshopper are not so complete for meshes as for polysurfaces, which complicates things rather.
I used the wbjoin command to remove duplicated vertices, which makes the mesh a little lighter to process. I think the new Grasshopper release has some weld command built in though
Hi Daniel, i'm wondering how you gave the thickness to the voronoi structure. I tried to use the tspipe component but the result wasn't as smooth as in your picture.
Hi, Im probably even newer to Grasshopper, and I am just as intrigued with this voronoi as I am with the original Mesh shape.
How did you model that in the first place ? if you don't mind me asking :)
Hello Joshua. How can I do this type of surface in Rhino???
Welcome to
Grasshopper
