Construct A Grid of A specific number of points

Hey all,

Is there a better way to do this? I want to create a grid of a specific point size (for laying out items for laser cutting.) I have been doing it this sloppy way, but I would like a better way, even better if I can make the grid fit into a specific size rectangular (the laser cutting bed). My way works, but is very sloppy.

Anybody do this?
